Notice: Volunteers Wanted for Tokyo 2020 Live Sites in 2018

It has been decided that Live Site events will be held during the period of the PyeongChang 2018 Winter Games. For each venue listed below, We call for volunteer staff to help liven up the atmosphere of the events.

The Live Site events will include not only live coverage of the PyeongChang 2018 Winter Games, but also activities related to various Olympic and Paralympic sports, collaborative events involving local municipalities in the three prefectures affected by the Great East Japan Earthquake and Kumamoto Prefecture, exhibits related to the Tokyo 2020 Games, food and beverage sales, and more.

“Tokyo 2020 Live Sites in 2018” is an official project of the Olympic and Paralympic Games. It provides an opportunity for attending the games to watch impactful live broadcasts on the large TV screen and enjoy stage events, sports activities, and more at locations other than the Olympic venues, providing them with the opportunity to share in the excitement and emotions of the Olympics.

Overview of duties Description of duties
1. Volunteer guides for spectators
Volunteers will guide visitors to the Live Site.
2. Volunteers for the sports activity area
Volunteers will assist in running the sports activity area set up at the event.
3. Event support volunteers
Volunteers will provide event management support.
4. Environmental volunteers
Volunteers will help cleaning at the event site.
Note: Volunteer duties and locations will be assigned by the Volunteer Recruitment Office. Planned number of volunteers
About 15-20 volunteers per day
- The number of volunteers may vary according to the event site.
- If we exceed the number of applicants needed, volunteers will be chosen by lottery.

Volunteer requirements
  • 1. Must be age 15 (senior high school) or older. Note: Senior high school students must have permission from a guardian.
  • 2. Must be able to volunteer for at least two days.
  • 3. Must be able to participate in the orientation.
  • 4. Must be capable of fulfilling duties in accordance with the rules of participation. Note: The rules of participation are listed separately.
